War Remnants Museum, Saigon

Formerly known as the " Museum of American War Crimes ", this place has a lot of left-behind or captured American military equipment on display. Along with much propaganda.

The tank by the tunnel is an M-41 hull. I.e., a Vietnamese Army tank. The oldest tanks the U.S. had in Vietnam were the M-48 (one of which is correctly labelled). The ARVNs were equipped with the lighter M-41. Of course, to label it an ARVN tank, or to leave the old ARVN markings on, would go against the the idea that all Vietnamese were fighting the Americans, which was definitely not the case.

All the equipment seems to be South Vietnamese military - even if American made. The Jet fighter in the top picture wasn't used by the Americans in Vietnam, but supplied only to the South Vietnamese- someone has replaced the South Vietnamese insignia with American (its an F-5 fighter bomber)
